Hot Tub Repair
Hot tub repair in Salt Lake City and the valley. Pumps, heaters, jets, and controls diagnosed on site, $65 per hour plus parts, quoted before work. Contact us.
When a hot tub stops doing what it should, we come and find out why. Pumps that will not run or run loud, heaters that will not bring the water up, jets that have lost pressure, controls that throw an error or do nothing at all. We diagnose it on site, tell you what it will take to fix, and you decide.
Repair is quote only. It is not booked or paid for online, because quoting a heater failure sight-unseen produces either a bad guess or a surprise on the invoice. Contact us with what the tub is doing, or call, and we will set up a visit.
Who it is for
- The tub will not heat, or takes far longer than it used to
- A pump is loud, hums without running, or trips the breaker
- Jets are weak, or some run and some do not
- The control panel shows an error code or is unresponsive
- The tub keeps shutting itself off
- There is water where there should not be, under or around the cabinet
If the tub runs fine and the problem is the water, that is not a repair. Cloudy water, smell, foam, and scale are maintenance and drain and refill territory, and they are cheaper to fix.
What a repair visit looks like
Diagnosis first. The technician looks at what the tub is doing, checks the obvious things (power, breakers, water level, flow through the filter), and works from there to the component. This usually takes about an hour and is billed at the hourly rate.
Then a straight answer. We tell you what we found, what it would take to fix, roughly what that costs in labor and parts, and whether it is worth doing on that tub. If we need to order a part, we tell you the lead time.
Then the repair, if you want it. Some fixes happen on the same visit. Some need a part and a second trip. Either way, you approve the work before it starts, and if we open something up and find a second problem, we stop and tell you before continuing.
Price and time
Repair labor is $65 per hour, and parts are added at cost. Time on site varies with the problem. A diagnosis is usually an hour. A straightforward part swap can be another hour. Anything involving the plumbing or the control system takes longer, and we will say so up front. Prices exclude chemicals and materials.
There is no flat repair price and there will not be, because there is no such thing as a standard repair. We would rather look at it than guess.
How often repairs come up
A well-maintained tub should not need repair often. Most repair calls trace back to one of three things:
- Low water level or a clogged filter, which starves the pump and heater of flow and makes them work harder than they were built for. Routine maintenance catches both.
- Water chemistry that stayed out of range for a long time, which corrodes heater elements and wears seals. The five factors we test on every visit are the five that protect the equipment, not just the bather.
- Age. Pumps and heater elements wear out. Ten years is a long life for either.
The single cheapest repair strategy is routine maintenance, where a technician runs the pumps and listens to them every couple of weeks. A pump that is starting to go sounds different before it fails. Catching it then means a scheduled part swap instead of a cold tub in January.
Signs you need it
- A grinding, squealing, or rattling sound from the equipment bay
- The heater light is on but the water is not warming
- The breaker trips when the tub starts up
- Water level dropping faster than evaporation explains
- Error codes on the panel that come back after a power cycle
- Jets that surge, sputter, or have lost pressure across the board
A note on winter. A tub that stops heating in December is more urgent than the same failure in June. If the pumps still circulate, keep them running so the water moves and does not freeze in the lines. Keep the cover on. Then call. We run routes Thursdays and Fridays, and we will tell you honestly whether we can get to it in time or whether you should drain it as a precaution.
Where we do this
Repair visits run on the same valley routes as everything else: Holladay, Salt Lake City, our base in Millcreek, and the rest of the service area. If the tub is beyond fixing and you are looking at replacing it, we also do installation, which is quoted the same way: after we see the site.
